Data & Trust
Your data. Your call. Always.
Plain words on how we treat what you share with us, how fast we answer when you write, and exactly how to walk out the door with everything if you ever want to.
Why this page exists
A lot of household-money apps you may have used before are gone, or quietly stopped getting updates. "Will this still be here next year, and can I get my numbers back out if it isn't" is a fair question to ask before you hand an app your finances. This page is our honest answer, not a sales pitch: what we actually do today, and where we are still a young company rather than a big one.
Get everything, anytime
One tap, no waiting on us
Open Settings and tap "Download my data." Krateo builds a complete JSON file of your own account right there, on the spot: your profile, every transaction and account you created, your private vaults, your consent history, and your billing record. No support ticket, no form, no days-long wait for a human to run a script.
Your data only, by design
In a shared household, the file is scoped to what you personally created or own. It never includes a family member's private entries or another member's data — that boundary is enforced on our servers, not just hidden in the app.
A real, portable format
The export is plain JSON: readable, importable, yours to keep on your own device or hand to another tool. It is not locked into a Krateo-only format, and it does not require us to still be around for you to open it.
Delete anytime, for real
Settings → Delete account removes your account: your profile, your login, and the receipt images and files tied to it. If you share a household with others, data you contributed may remain for the members who still rely on that shared ledger, the same way leaving a shared document doesn't erase it for everyone else in it. Deleting is not archiving or hiding — it is a real, immediate removal on our servers.
Who sees your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Krateo does use a small set of named service providers to run the app, each doing exactly one job, and each named here rather than hidden in a legal annex:
Google Cloud / Firebase
Sign-in, the database, and the backend that runs the app.
Sophtron & SnapTrade
Optional bank and investment connections, only if you choose to link an account. Your bank login is entered on their secure page, never ours.
Google Gemini & Cloud Vision
Power the in-app AI assistant and receipt scanning, using only the minimal numbers or image needed for that one request.
Amplitude
Limited, opt-out product analytics with sanitized event properties, so we can see what's breaking and what to improve. It never receives transaction amounts, merchant names, balances, or notes.
Adapty & ZeptoMail
Subscription/billing management, and the email service that sends account and verification messages.
This is the short version. The full, current list — including data regions and legal transfer terms — is always in our Privacy Policy.
When you write to us
Krateo is small on purpose: a real person, not a support queue or a bot, reads every message that comes in through Contact us or Settings → Talk to us. That is the commitment, and we would rather publish a number we hit than a faster one we miss.
